April 23: Food Symposium

The second annual Food Symposium is a time for students, faculty and community members to voice their ideas and concerns about the food culture on campus. April 23: Earth Month Events – Mountain Bike Monday

5 p.m. Cycle Learning Center. All level mountain bike rides meet at the Cycle Learning Center every Monday at 5:30 p.m. and head for the foothills for a 1.5-2 hour ride.  As a new rider, you can learn trail technique, trail-side maintenance, and get an orientation to the Boise front trail system.  More seasoned riders will love the fitness opportunity, as well as having fun on fast singletrack! April 23: Lecture by David Grinspoon, Astrobiologist, Writer

7:30 p.m. Boise State Special Events Center Boise State University Department of Physics, the Honors College and Sawtooth Hall, and the Idaho Environmental Forum welcome David Grinspoon, astrobiologist, award-winning science communicator, and prize-winning author, for a lecture on his new book, Earth in Human Hands. The event is free and open to the public. Grinspoon will follow the lecture with a book signing at 8:30 p.m. in the lobby. Books will be available for purchase at the event.

April 24: Using ‘Blackboard Goals’ to Assess Student Learning

This workshop will provide a hands-on opportunity for faculty to use Blackboard Goals and learn how it can be used to assess student learning, either at a course or programmatic level. Faculty will learn how to align learning outcomes with course assignments in Blackboard. They will also learn how to generate an assessment report.
