Idaho Department of Fish and Game continues to lead the charge restoring habitat after the 2024 Valley Fire burned 10,000 acres of wildlife habitat including much of the Intermountain Bird Observatory's Lucky Peak migration station. There are opportunities this winter for folks of all ages to help with seed collection and planting

Please note that exact collection sites hinge upon biologic timelines of seed ripening. We share updated event information with people registered for the event(s). 

So far, seed production is looking great this year. With your help, we will be able to collect lots of seed for future fire restoration and habitat improvement projects. Our seed storage was nearly completely cleaned out when we seeded the Valley and Paddock Fires last winter.
