Talking Teaching: AI Prompt Party (Hybrid)
About this Event
2120 University Drive, Boise, ID 83725
https://cglink.me/2yk/r389563How can we use writing to help students build critical AI literacy skills? In this Talking Teaching session, we will use a framework for exploring AI in writing as a lens to review a wide range of sample assignment prompts (both high and low stakes). Participants will engage with several concrete examples to spark their own ideas and discuss how they can be adapted across disciplines. Through collaborative conversations, we will develop practical takeaways, and offer specific examples and strategies for using AI that you can adapt for your courses. At the end of this session, you will be able to:
- Explore a variety of assignment examples that integrate AI in creative ways to support student critical thinking.
- Identify ways that writing assignments can support students in developing critical AI literacy skills.
- Analyze sample prompts for their efficacy and adaptability across different disciplines and teaching contexts.
- Contribute to a collaborative discussion about the role of AI in writing and teaching.
