True collaboration involves the facilitator helping and training the group in collaborative standards. To facilitate means to make an action or process easy or easier. This short discussion will review adversarial thinking versus collaborative thinking processes and how a collaborative facilitator can help a group create a participatory, successful culture.
Facilitated by Joe Gundy. Gundy teaches in both the Communication and Dispute Resolution Departments at Boise State. He teaches conflict management, negotiation, mediation and Centering Workshops based on the martial art, Aikido. He is also a master’s candidate completing and Interdisciplinary Studies Degree in Collaboration and Conflict Management.
