Doors at 6 p.m., program begins at 6:30 p.m. Student Union Building, Special Events Center. In 2015, President Barack Obama signed into law Congressman Mike Simpson’s legislation creating three new Wilderness areas in Idaho. The legislation, “The Sawtooth National Recreation Area and Jerry Peak Wilderness Additions Act” (H.R. 1138), created over 275,000 acres of breathtaking wilderness.
Now, Idaho Public Television and Boise State’s School of Public Service presents a special evening about this historic act with Outdoor Idaho host Bruce Reichert and panelists Governor Cecil Andrus, Congressman Mike Simpson, Idaho Statesman reporter Rocky Barker and Idaho Conservation League executive director Rick Johnson. Following the presentation, there will be a Q&A moderated by Andrus Center director John Freemuth.
This event is free and open to the public.
