June 9: Reception for Idaho Watercolor Society Exhibition

Watercolor of a broken car

5:30-7 p.m. Student Union Fine Arts Gallery. Founded in 1979, the Idaho Watercolor Society (IWS) is a non-profit organization that promotes the use of watercolor media and aims to educate the public regarding the significance of watercolor painting in today’s setting. Through programs, workshops, exhibits and scholarships, IWS helps artists of all ages develop their talents and reach the highest standards of excellence. This exhibition showcases a glimpse at the breadth of styles the medium can achieve and highlights watercolor artists throughout Idaho.

This year’s juror is Judi Betts, a signature member of the American and National Watercolor Societies with an international reputation for her transparent watercolor techniques.

An award ceremony will follow in the Hatch Ballroom to celebrate the juror’s chosen winners. The reception is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
