Jan. 9-Feb. 19: Art Exhibit, ‘National Mythstory’

Art by Bryan Moore

Open during regular Student Union Building hours. SUB Fine Arts Gallery (second floor). Alumnus and artist Bryan Anthony Moore returns to campus with his exhibit National Mythstory. The exhibit will run Jan. 9-Feb. 19.

A reception is scheduled from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Jan. 10, and an artist’s talk in the gallery also is planned for 6 p.m. on Jan. 12. Both events are free and open to the public; light refreshments will be served.

In National Mythstory, Moore displays his research on propaganda-laden histories, including history textbooks recently approved by the Texas State Board of Education,  with illustrations, paintings and sculptures that serve as contemporary illuminations of historical inaccuracies published in public school texts.

The Jan. 12 conversation with Moore is part of the Civil Discourse on Politics and Art Speaker Series. Please visit for a full list of conversations hosted in the Student Union Building.
