Thinking About Artificial Thinking: AI, Learning, and Cognition

Dr. Stone will present data on the use and perception of LLMs by college students and by those in wider society. He will discuss some tradeoffs and cognitive effects of AI usage and potential big picture implications for learning and training. The talk will also touch a little on topics from the larger field of comparative cognition and questions of artificial vs. biological intelligence.
