Engineering Concepts in Academic and Workplace Settings: How Situated Is Knowledge in These Settings? 

 

Dr. Brown is a Professor of Engineering Education at Oregon State University, where he has been since 2013. He earned his PhD in Civil Engineering from OSU in 2005 and previously taught at Washington State University. He has taught courses such as fluid mechanics, statistics, mechanics of materials, and capstone design. His research focuses on teaching practices, student engagement, engineering identity, and design motivation. Dr. Brown has received numerous awards, including the NSF Career Award and multiple ASEE and teaching honors. 

 

The InspireME Series explores topics of interest in Mechanical Engineering for the Boise State community.
