Sexual Assault Prevention and Skill Building Webinar
About this Event
This 90-minute webinar is an opportunity for new students and their parents to learn about sexual assault and sexual harassment prevention techniques and to prepare for common uncomfortable and/or unsafe situations.
Students will learn about:
- The Red Zone
- Resistance and Assessment - recognizing and learning how to overcome social and emotional barriers to resistance to uncomfortable pressure.
- Setting and Maintaining Boundaries
- Navigating Consent
- Active Bystander Intervention
- Recognizing Stalking and Relationship Escalation
- Safety and Support Resources at Boise State
Parents will learn:
- How to talk about sexual assault prevention with their student
- How to help their student think about their own personal boundaries and comfort levels with new acquaintances
- How to help their student practice setting and maintaining boundaries despite social or emotional pressure
- How to encourage verbal assertiveness around consent, boundaries, and bystander intervention
- What safety resources are available on campus
