Cheryl Oestreicher, professor and head of Special Collections and Archives, is leaving the university after 13 years of service to Boise State.

Oestreicher's impact on Albertsons Library, particularly within Special Collections and Archives, has been transformative. She embodied the library's motto: "Connect. Create. Cultivate."

Oestreicher has been an advocate and dedicated mentor who forged numerous valuable partnerships on campus and in the community. Her efforts directly contributed to the collection's growth, resulting in the acquisition of more than 100 local history collections. In recognition of her scholarship and leadership, the university promoted Oestreicher to full professor in 2022. She worked with many people on campus and locally to foster a sense of community and interest in all aspects of the Boise State story.

A farewell gathering will take place from 1-3 p.m., Nov. 18 in Special Collections on the library's second floor. All are welcome.
