April 12-May 13: Don’t Self-Conchas, the Art of Jake Prendez

Chicano art

8 a.m.-5 p.m. Mon-Fri. Student Union Building, second floor Student Diversity Center. Casita Nepantla presents an art exhibit by Chicano artist Jake Prendez. Prendez currently resides in Seattle, Washington. His work centers on Mexican American culture and reflects Mexican indigenous influences, popular culture and satire.

This exhibit will run through May 13 in the Student Diversity Center of the SUB. It is free and open to the public.

Prendez’s visit to Boise State and his art exhibit were made possible through partial funding by the university’s art department and the Center for Educational and Multicultural Opportunities.

Casita Nepantla opened in fall of 2016 and is a space that celebrates Latinx and Latin American culture, engages in student recruitment and retention, and provides research grants for students and faculty who are exploring issues dealing with Latinx and Latin Americans.
