3:00 p.m. Student Union Building, Bishop Barnwell Room. This series of presentations by multilingual first-year Boise State students offers insights about linguistic and cultural diversity and why it matters. Audience members gain a broad understanding of the challenges that many international and U.S.-resident English learners face, as well concrete advice about teaching strategies that could draw on these students’ knowledge of cultural and linguistic agility.
No RSVP required, but you may register to have your attendance count toward the newly established BUILD certificate—Boise [State] Uniting for Inclusion and Leadership in Diversity—by clicking here: https://orgsync.com/112910/events/1816758/occurrences/4263914
Invite current or prospective students who came to the U.S. as refugees to the conference as well as the informal, meet-and-greet reception (also in Bishop Barnwell) immediately following the Conference on Language, Identity, and Culture.
