Evidence shows that students learn best when they are actively engaged with the content and each other. In this workshop, participants will be introduced to, share, and plan how to implement various active learning strategies into their courses, in alignment with the learning outcomes and assessments. In particular participants will explore the active learning concept of gamification and simulations.

By the end of the workshop, you will be able to:
- Identify learning activities, specifically gamification and simulations, which will support students in mastering the learning outcomes
- Select learning strategies that provide students with multiple ways to engage with the content, fellow students and instructor
